50th Anniversary tribute build to one of the greatest achievements in cycling …The 25th of October 1972 in Mexico City Eddy Merckx broke the Hour Record with 49.431 Kilometres. I have tried to create a tribute using a genuine 1982 Merckx Pista frame and Campagnolo, Fiamme, Titanium stem and Cinelli bars & saddle …I hope you like it.
Frame: Vintage Original Eddy Merckx1982 Pista Frame Columbus SL Tubing, Chrome rear ends and Painted to an exacting standard to replicate the original. Circa 1982 #E3834 with matching numbers
Equipment: Using a combination of VGC and NOS parts.
Cranks: Campagnolo Pista Chainset 52t x14t 1/8”
Bottom Bracket: Campagnolo Pista
Hubs: Campagnolo Pista Hubs
Rims: Fiamme Red
Tubulars: Pevani Corsa
Seat Post: Campagnolo Nuovo Record 27.2mm
Saddle: Cinelli Unicanitor
Stem: Titanium 130mm (to replicate the Pino one)
Handlebars: Cinelli 65
Pedals: Campagnolo Pista
Straps: Alfredo Binda
Condition: As you can see in the pictures, no expense has been spared, I have tried to replicate the original spirit of the Hour Record bike with a practical aspect of “This bike is ready to Ride” …. Buy it and experience a piece of cycling history …Or just place it on the wall and admire.
